Array Plastics and the Centre Tecnològic Eurecat (member of Tecnio) are developing the Sentinel project, a new monitoring system applied to plastic injection, which uses artificial intelligence, automatic learning, Big Data and advanced techniques, Data analysis, to improve the supervision of the productive process and the control of the quality of its products.
With this system of data capture, the key parameters of each injected piece will be stored and analyzed through an artificial intelligence engine. This artificial intelligence system will detect potentially defective parts immediately and allow them to be removed from the process and undertake improvement actions.
To capture data, PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) will be installed on the injection machines.
The objective of the SENTINEL project is to develop and implement advanced solutions based on Machine Learning algorithmsThe expected result of the project is to be able to develop a flexible tool adapted to our needs by incorporating new solutions regarding the state of the art, based on an increase in accuracy thanks to the customization of algorithms and AI engine preventive alarms, based on Quality predictions.
We believe that this new control tool will revert to an improvement in the quality and complete traceability of our products, apart from a reduction of non-quality costs associated with the subsequent detection of defective parts.
The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union, in the framework of the FEDER Operation for Catalonia 2014-2020.
